During chess weekend in Banska Stiavnica (9th July 2016) you can see at town square also interesting artistic performances. Swordsmen from Zubři historical swordplay group (CZ), Bojník and Morová rana, historical music Hollóének Hungarica Music Band (HU), Miro Kasprzyk, Erik Forgáč, falconers st. Bavon, fire show Anta Agni, but also Marek Majeský, Milan Bahul, Dominika Kavaschová and Júlia Horváthová are waiting for you. Grandmasters Sergei Movsesian and Jan-Krzysztof Duda will play againt visitors simultaneous chess games.

9th July 2016 (9:00 p.m.) will be in Banska Stiavnica interesting performance. The game with live chess-men is traditional event in Banska Stiavnica. Will be played by world-class chess grandmasters Sergei Movsesian and Jan-Krzysztof Duda. They will play with their eyes covered - blindfold game. Every move will be performed by live chess-men. By taking piece will be sword fight.

Sergei Movsesian was born as an Armenian in Georgia, but in 2002 he gained a Slovak citizenship. In the European championship in Plovdiv (2008) he won bronze. During the world team championship in China (2011) he won a gold medal, that same year he also won the European club cup (playing for St. Petersburg). Next year (2012) he won gold medal in the Chess Olympiad (Istanbul).

Jan-Krzysztof Duda was born (26 April 1998) in Krakow (Poland) and learnt to play chess at the age of five. He achieved grandmaster title in 2013 at the age of 15 years and 21 days, becoming the second youngest grandmaster in the world after Wei Yi at the time. In December 2014, he won the European Rapid Chess Championship and took silver in the European Blitz Chess Championship, both held in Wrocław, Poland.

During chess festival in Banska Stiavnica will be realized also international chess tournament under name V4 BLITZ OPEN (8th July 2016). We expected about 50-70 players mainly from V4 countries. Players will have only 3 minutes for every game and bonus 2 seconds per every move. Tournament is supported by International Visegrad Fund within the frame of V LIVE 4 CHESS project, Slovak Chess Federation, Banská Bystrica Self-Governing Region, town Banská Štiavnica and other partners.

During chess festival in Banska Stiavnica will be for ordinary chess players and visitors available free chess lectures. Begins will be every day (from 4th July 2016) 2 hours after start of tournament games. Last two days (9th and 10th July ) will be start at 11:00 a.m. During chess lectures will be commentary and live analysis of chess games in V4 OPEN Stiavnica. Lecturers will be top chess grandmasters. Jan Plachetka (2nd place at chess Olympiad), Sergei Movsesian (world team champion), Jozef Franzen (vice-world champion in correspondence chess) and others.

During chess festival in Banska Stiavnica will be for chess players also interesting cultural and sports program. Monday and Tuesday (4th and 5th July 2016) will be football tournament between chess players. Some chess players will play also table tennis. For another group will be available sight-seeing. Music fans could visit concert of Ludvik Kasuba, 7th July 2016 at 7:00 p.m. (Pocuvadlo lake).
